Strange Goings On Over At eBay

What sort of offerings can be categorised as ‘strange’ you might ask?
Well, this author has seen auctions for: virginity (this was removed because let’s face it – that’s prostitution and definitely not something that Ebay really want to promote!), a hilarious auction for a stick – yes a stick! The offending stick was part of a chair which broke when the seller sat on it! He was so outraged that he decided it would be a saleable item. And starting at .01c, he was right! He actually did sell it for close to $1.00 …
Now that doesn’t mean you should all rush out to your local forest and collect firewood and give each piece an interesting history about which to write and offer up on Ebay!
Also seen was a piece of toast! This was so ridiculous, that one TV station in Australia featured that piece of toast on an evening comedy program and the hit counter went berserk after that! So it seems that anything, which could be classified as ‘strange’, has a place on Ebay.
Anyone got any old false teeth perhaps? I’m sure even those would get a bid! Or how about that most horrible ‘thing’ you bought on Ebay, which could be classified as the worst, buying choice you ever made?
I’ve got one of those – what self-respecting Ebay supporter hasn’t?
Thinking it might be fun to buy a wig after having my long hair cut short, I turned to – you guessed it – Ebay – to spend my cash on a wig. Boy oh boy, what a disaster that turned out to be! I purchased this gorgeous looking blonde, long haired, curly looking piece which promised to make me look **** and turn heads! The only heads this disaster would have turned would have been in true ‘Exorcist’ style!
This ‘thing’ which was advertised as “New, with Tags” was an absolutely revolting disaster! It was made of what can only be described as raffia, was orange in colour and was ‘glued’ in bits to the mesh which fits ‘all sizes of head’ – all but mine, that is! Too small, too horrible, too funny for words! It now sits on the corner piece of our banister – I keep thinking I’ll paint some eyes and a big red mouth there. It certainly has been a talking point with lots of laughs and wise cracks at ‘mum’s worst Ebay purchase’! It almost seems a shame to sell it now in the ‘weird’ category because ‘Sally’ seems to now have a home here!

Funny Ringtones – Splendid Tunes For Hours Of Laughs

Ringtones started off as bad electronic sounding music that was really just the melody for a popular song. Some of these ringtones were recognizable and some of them were just funny. It was fun in the beginning to listen to the small short snippets of the song and try to identify it. However nows when a phone plays a song, the song is unmistakable and normally has words to go along with it.
Of course people inevitable got bored with only have songs as ringtones on their phones and new funny ringtones were created, well funny for some people. Most of these new funny ringtones are weird little men with scary voices that yell and swear at you to answer your phone. These funny ringtones can be found in a variety of accents and with a variety of commands and insults accompanying the demand that you answer your phone.
Personally I find these amusing though a bit immature, but hey everyone has to be a little immature every now and then. However I don’t think I would ever actually put on of these tones on my phone. You will mostly find these ringtones on the phones of teenagers and overgrown children. Or adults have them but more just to laugh at because hopefully they realize how inappropriate they are to let ring in public.
I have friends that have these, and they love them for about 2 days, and then they inevitably become as annoyed with them as everyone else is. I am not sure what other funny ringtones there are. It’s been confirmed that Patrick Swayze passed away at his home in Los Angeles last night following a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Tributes for the Dirty Dancing star have been flooding in since the news broke and during last nights Toronto Film Festival Patrick’s friend and co-star Rob Lowe said:
“Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an amazing horseman. But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa.”
Meanwhile fans of the tragic actor have already started laying flowers on his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

It’s been confirmed that Patrick Swayze passed away at his home in Los Angeles last night following a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Tributes for the Dirty Dancing star have been flooding in since the news broke and during last nights Toronto Film Festival Patrick’s friend and co-star Rob Lowe said:
“Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an amazing horseman. But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa.”
Meanwhile fans of the tragic actor have already started laying flowers on his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Fact Is Funnier Than Comedy

When I need a chuckle, I try to watch a sitcom or read the funnies. When my need for comedy is greater, then I invest my time in watching a complete movie. But when nothing but the funniest will do, I just observe the so-called real world around me.
The fact that this is really happening makes all the weird stuff all the more funny. To begin with, one tends to have a basic expectation of common sense from people. But the word common is misleading, as most often what we would classify as common sense is fairly uncommon.
What? Are you having trouble believing me? Well just turn to the weird news section of any newspaper or portal web site. Honestly, I used to think that all this was just made up. But I finally got to meet some of the people in these real world snafus and became a believer.
What would you say of the owner who claims that her cat dialed 911 thereby calling the police in time to save her life? Or the person who called Nine One One and claimed to not be able to find the Eleven button on his phone, thereby not being able to call Nine-Eleven, Or the bank robber who had his name prominently labeled across the motor bike helmet he wore to a bank? If I keep extending this list, you will soon get convinced that I am making this up as I am going along.
I am reminded of the words of Ernest Hemingway when we would sit on the steps of, whatever he sat on the steps of, and “see the world walk by.” Well, Hemingway and I share that in common, except that it seems like I am more entertained than Hemingway was, as I do not just see the world walk by, but also make a fool of itself all along the way.
So, when you feel that things are all so sad and boring, just look around. Do not bother about reading a joke book. Instead consider reading a news paper. Knowing what happened when a duck went to the bar and asked for a drink can be fun the first time you hear it. Responding to a “Knock Knock” can be fun the first hundred times you hear it. But, a constant, evergreen, and “unreal” source of chuckles is the real world.
It is no wonder then that movie makers spend time, energy, and money in including bloopers at the end of all movies. Many people claim that these bloopers are more fun than the actual movie.
